This gig is a structural/developmental edit. This type of editing occurs after you've drafted two/three times, and you're looking for some professional insight into where your manuscript needs uplifting.
To provide a structural edit, I will read your manuscript at least twice. After which, I'll complete a report and editorial letter based on the literary devices listed below:
- tone
- dialogue
- genre conventions
- character
- plot
- pacing
- tension
Length of the report will vary depending on the manuscript. It will include areas of improvement, and suggestions. The report will be delivered to you as a PDF, accompanied with an editorial letter. If there is any rewriting, it will be done on a copy of your manuscript (you will receive a copy with tracked changes, the original manuscript, and the report).
